When I was in high school, I was obsessed with the idea of being perfect. I would stress myself out until I was sick in order to achieve a 4.0 GPA, but in the back of my mind I knew that the sleepless nights and anxiety weren’t sustainable and I eventually had a burn out. That may have been over 10 years ago, but I still find it incredibly relevant as I launched my career as a branding & marketing consultant.

I find a great sense of peace in the fact that I will never be perfect. And guess what - neither will you. Perfection does not exist. There is no finish line. Once you hit your goal, you will always have to keep innovating in order hit the next one.

There is always, always room for growth. As impossible as it may sometimes seem, you always have the power to stretch just that tiny bit outside of our comfort zone where all the magic stuff happens.

This beautiful, neverending journey however does not mean we should procrastinate. Or even worse, put our goals on hold until the “right day” rolls around.

If you want new results, you must get comfortable with being uncomfortable.

Keep pushing. Forget about the final product, because that doesn’t exist either. What works today will not work next year, as your market and your products evolve. Listen to your clients and treasure what they have to say. They are your most precious resource. Apply this feedback every day to make your business a brand everyone can’t stop talking about.

Go ahead and get your message out into the world. Your first website should never be your final one. As your business expands, your website should reflect this growth. Maybe for now it’s just a tweak in your copy, or (most likely) a drastic makeover.
